Figment arrived in CT in time for the end of the school year.
Unfortunately rather than arriving in time for all the parties, He
made it time to complete all of the school projects and study for
finals and then had to be on his way before the parties...
Figment decided that he would help my daughter with her final
school project. Building a mock up of a European Landmark.
Both Figment and my daughter decided to recreate the Marble Arch
from London England. Turned out to be a good decision, as Figment
had a lot of creative Imagination..
.
Figment wanted to do all the cutting with the knife, but for safety
reasons, we would not let him, So instead he made the pillars for
the sides of the arch. Here he is handing one to be attached:
He felt strongly that his role should be to keep one on hand as they became needed.
Figment Quality inspecting a job well done, and hoping they will do as well with the other side.
Figment posing with the finished landmark
Figment said it can't be a landmark with out a tourist inside of it looking around..
Adding the finishing touches to strengthen the sides
Proudly admiring his work...
Figment wanted to sign his name to the project, until he found out
that my daughter was to have done the project by herself. Note his
choice of purple for his marker.
After a long hard day of construction, a day of rest was in order and Figment decided to sit out and enjoy the sun...
A little time on the slide with my son.
Playing with the children in thier Winnie the Pooh play house.
And we concluded the day with a family game of croquet. Figment
wanted the purple mallet and could not conceive of a Proper Croquet
Set not having a purple one. In the end he opted for blue
Overall a great visit...
The kids are already coming up with creative things for Figment to do if he ever comes back this way again... |

Looks like Figment had a great time - and maybe he should have become and architect! |

What fun Figment is having on his journeys. Look at all the wonderful people he's meeting too. _________________ *~deb~*

We never saw Figment's creative side. All he did at our house was hang out with Chicken Little and play. Maybe I was just a bad influence. The Guinness you know!
Glad to see he can be a good example to students. _________________ [ |

Too cute! Looks like Figment is having fun and learning at the same time... I guess that reminds him of his home at Epcot. |

Good times...it's fun to see this project...as Figment travels about the country. Perhaps I'll have to put in a request to have him arrive to travel to Hungary next summer.
Great job guys! It's like a little bit of Disney Magic arriving right at your door!!

If you'd like to host Figment next summer (or anytime), just send an e-mail to uabstaff@uabmagic.com to get on the list.
I hear tell that Figgy may be making a trip to a Polynesian place...maybe even across the Pacific...but then again, this may just be a rumor... _________________ When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.

Sounds like Figment had a great time and that your daughter has as much imagination as he does.
I am kinda hurt though. Both my father and I would have loved to have visited with Figment for a while and we did not even know he was in town! Next time, give us a call! |
