Honestly Deb..the wait didn't seem that long at all. The line moved steady. Maybe 30-40 minutes. But it was shorter after I left the gift shop. |

Wow. I'm really excited. Is the nod to the Captain (the Mansion's orig. storyline) still there? Wait, wait don't tell me. I want to be surprised! |

I'll need to have that reference explained to me.
Those pics are great. It's exciting. Can't wait to see it. Maybe that will take the edge off from Donna since SSE will be down.
And SGT...there is some guy on WDWMagic using your name and posting your pictures. _________________ [ |

Love the pics... SGT, you're not working at the company are you? You just happen to live that close? I'm very jealous

Originally, the Mansion was supposed to be about a sea captain. Bluebeard, I believe. It mentions it in depth in the Haunted Mansion book by Jason Surrell. The nods to the orig storyline are the nautical references in the weather vane on top of the house (DL's mansion has a ship), the Bluebeard wives tomb at the ride's exit, and, in the picture hallway featuring portraits with moving eyes, there's one of a sea captain covered in starfish and other flotsam.
In case anyone is considering the 30 meg download of the new Mansion video on WDWMagic, I wouldn't waste much time; it's unfortunately almost completely black. It does have some good shots of the stretching room, though. |

Saw the new Mansion last night at Mickey's Xmas Party, and it was awesome!!!!!!! The MC Escher stairs were so cool, as well as the attic. There was no line, so we kept riding, and riding. It does seem like they sped up the ride as I couldn't see it all. Awesome! Just, Awesome!!!!! |

I really think they did a great job! A few new odds and ends, new attic, great stair effects. |
