We were in WDW last week and we went in to see the Country Bears since we really like that show. I was SO disappointed in it. They removed a majority of the "Non-PC" jokes and the heads on the way hardly said anything. They even rearranged how the bears appear during the show.
Why in the world would they take such a classic show and try and make it PC? Oh, no fat jokes but hey, let's leave in the part of shooting Little Buford.
I liked it so much better when Disney didn't care about being PC and kept the shows that were classics as they were. _________________ When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.

I agree... but for every one of us "classic" lovers there are 20 people experiencing WDW for the "first time" and take offense or complain about the littlest things.
Thats why we can't have nice things........... |

You are right, but some people just need to grow a pair and not be so whiny. _________________ When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.

What was actually changed in the show? What was so "un-PC" that they could have taken out? _________________ Toadi Acceleratio Semper Absurda |

Jokes about Trixie's size is the most notable. Basically any banter that was making fun of anything.
According to Wikipedia:
On August 21, 2012, the Walt Disney World version of the Country Bear Jamboree closed for a nearly two-month-long refurbishment. All the characters in the show received new skin, fur, and costumes. The songs "Pretty Little Devilish Mary" and "Fractured Folk Song" and some of the dialogue were removed, while other songs were shortened. The show is now 4 to 5 minutes shorter than it was before. The shorter version of the show opened on October 17, 2012. _________________ When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.

Disney has become one of the leaders in the PC-culture war - when it meets there political agenda.
They are in serious need of a humor injections. Many of the great rides have been watered down for incredibly stupid things. |

Oh so true WDWFan!
What ever happened to "Hey, we're Disney...don't like it, don't come here!". I mean, if you're going to water everything down and remove so much of a show that's it's hardly worth watching, why not just remove it.
Remove fat jokes because it might offend someone and remove the friendly bickering, but hey, let's leave in the joke about shooting someone.
Hurt someone's feelings = bad
kill someone = ok _________________ When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.

Well, speaking as one of the people who fill the seats completely, I say "Put he original back!".
Although I expect they used 'not offending" as an excuse to shorten the show and cram more people in. Then, when people are not happy with the shortened show, they can use it as an excuse to take it out and replace it because it is no longer popular.
Is that what I want? No, but I have seen that type of behavior from them before...Reduce the quality and then remove it as unpopular.
Too bad. |

Shooting is ok in Big Bear, and ok in the shooting gallery - But oh no - it is inappropriate in the Jungle Cruise!
The lack of consistency is just as annoying as the political correctness. |

Case in point, how the pirates used to chase the village women in PotC. |
